Political Intolerance
People who are unscrupulous can take control of a group by focusing the group against another group.
This is a tactic, a political manipulation.
This is the strategy of using fear to gather people and make them submit so they can be used.
They often assure the people that their god approves and is "on their side".

This strategy takes advantage of the fears of people who are unaware of the power of manipulation.
This kind of tactic captures the imaginations of people who have not had opportunities to develop themselves and who suffer lives of hardship.
They crave to ally themselves with those in power.
The people who accept this will be willing to do anything.
They will be thoroughly fooled.
The goals of the leaders do not include the well-being of the people.
Many people will be willing to die for the leaders when their fears have been manipulated this way.

The "leader" promises to protect them and guide them in a fight against the "others".
These leaders usually keep promising future improvements to keep the people under their spell.
As more people join the group, the leader becomes more and more 'special' and distinct from the rest of the population.
In this way, the leaders gather many followers to do the work for them and to give them power.
The leaders are usually the most visible figureheads of a top echelon of the group, a small group of elite people who are convinced of their own superiority in relation to the rest of their group and to the people of all other groups.

The antidotes to this poison are intelligence, truth, knowledge, awareness, courage, integrity and a strong sense of individuality and compassion for others.

Quotes
(Here the first group of quotes are from dictators. Keep in mind: Hatred is a sign of mental illness!)
“Providence has ordained that I should be the greatest liberator of humanity. I am freeing man from the restraints of an intelligence that has taken charge, from the dirty and degrading self-mortification of a false vision called conscience and morality, and from the demands of a freedom and independence which only a very few can bear.”
Adolph Hitler
“I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.”
Adolph Hitler
“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”
Adolph Hitler
“It is not truth that matters, but victory.”
Adolph Hitler
“Mankind has grown strong in eternal struggles and it will only perish through eternal peace.”
Adolph Hitler
“How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think.”
Adolph Hitler
“By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise.”
Adolph Hitler
“The Ten Commandments have lost their validity. Conscience is a Jewish invention, it is a blemish like circumcision.”
Adolph Hitler
“The struggle for world domination will be fought entirely between us, between Germans and Jews. All else is facade and illusion. Behind England stands Israel, and behind France, and behind the United States. Even when we have driven the Jew out of Germany, he remains our world enemy.”
Adolph Hitler
“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”
Adolph Hitler
“It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”
Joseph Stalin
“The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic.”
Joseph Stalin
“We are ready to sacrifice our souls, our children and our families so as not to give up Iraq. We say this so no one will think that America is capable of breaking the will of the Iraqis with its weapons.”
Saddam Hussein
“Allah is on our side. That is why we will beat the aggressor.”
Saddam Hussein

(Here are some quotes about dictators)
“Dictators must have enemies. They must have internal enemies to justify their secret police and external enemies to justify their military forces.”
Richard Perle
“Freedom and justice cannot be parceled out in pieces to suit political convenience. I don't believe you can stand for freedom for one group of people and deny it to others.”
Coretta Scott King
“What [Stanley] Milgram’s obedience studies revealed above all was the sheer power of social pressure. Suddenly it was conceivable that the sorts of psychological forces producing conformity that social scientists had been interested in for some time could not only explain fashions and stock market gyrations, but also some of the 20th century’s most egregious collective behaviors: genocide, the Holocaust, totalitarianism,”
Dominic Packer, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Lehigh University
(referring to Stanley Milgram's Behavioral Study of Obedience)
“Dictators free themselves, but they enslave the people.”
Charlie Chaplin
“History reminds us that dictators and despots arise during times of severe economic crisis.”
Robert Kiyosaki
“It is from weakness that people reach for dictators and concentrated government power. Only the strong can be free. And only the productive can be strong.”
Wendell Willkie
“Dictators cause the world's worst problems: all the collapsed states, and all the devastated economies. All the vapid cases of corruption, grand theft, and naked plunder of the treasury are caused by dictators, leaving in their wake trails of wanton destruction, horrendous carnage and human debris.”
George Ayittey
“Stereotypes lose their power when the world is found to be more complex than the stereotype would suggest. When we learn that individuals do not fit the group stereotype, then it begins to fall apart.”
Ed Koch
“In republics there is not a respect for authority, but a fear of power.”
Dr. Samuel Johnson
"Education makes a people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern but impossible to enslave."
Henry Brougham
“A test of a people is how it behaves toward the old. It is easy to love children. Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children. But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless are the true gold mines of a culture.”
Abraham Joshua Heschel
“The uprising in Egypt (2011) was initiated by the young generation. The uprising achieved two things. One is it made the lives of dictators impossible. Today, if you are looking for a safe job, don't become a dictator.”
Shimon Peres
