Solutions: Near Earth Objects

Near Earth Objects are objects from space, asteroids, meteors and comets that pass dangerously close to the the Earth on their orbits around the Sun. We are the only creatures on Earth who have the capability to divert these dangerous bodies from a collision with our home world. These collisions have happened in the past and these bodies will continue to present themselves in the future. There are many inventive plans to deflect and mine asteroids for material, thereby eliminating the threats.

Oct. 20, 2022 - The NASA DART spacecraft successfully impacted the asteroid Dimorphos on September 26, reducing the period of the asteroid's orbit by 32 minutes. NASA scientists considered a change of 73 seconds to be the minimum amount for success. The article linked below has been updated to reflect the latest data and images from the impact.
